We campaign for the further provision of integrated education
In April 2018, we laid out 100 schoolbags at the front of Stormont. 93 of the schools were plain in colour. Seven of the bags were bright, multicoloured and visibly different. The colour and diversity of these seven bags showcases the tapestry of integrated education and visually represents that only seven percent of Northern Ireland’s schools hold an ‘integrated’ classification. This campaign coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. Though this agreement committed to the furtherance of integrated education, in 2022, the percentage of schools in Northern Ireland that are integrated remains low.

Integrated AlumNI were delighted to host our inaugural event, Education Unplugged, in the historic Crumlin Road Gaol. Our guests were political heavyweights DUP MP Ian Paisley Junior and former hunger striker and blanket protester Pat Sheehan MLA from Sinn Féin.
